This beautiful set consists of a dining table and two matching chairs. The dining table is constructed of Mindi hardwood solids and veneers. Mindi is a dense, open-grained wood that's similar to American Oak and highly valued in furniture-making due to its durability and its ease in accepting stain. It is stained a natural, medium antique oak. The tabletop features a signature natural quarried-slate inlay, surrounded by thick wood frames. An 18-inch leaf is included, which extends the table to 60 inches in length, ideal for large gatherings - it can seat up to six people.
Also included in this set are two side dining chairs, each constructed of a Mindi-wood-veneered seat with gorgeous metal framework scrolls on the legs for a surprising accent. The wood of the chairs is stained to match the antique oak of the table.
Assembly is required on the table; when completed, it measures 42L x 42W x 30H inches (without the leaf inserted). The chairs arrive fully assembled and measure 22W x 24.5D x 40.75H inches.
Notes on construction
All Riverside domestic furniture is constructed of fine wood harvested from American forests, including oak, ash, poplar, and pine. These wood types are durable and feature beautiful, open grains that make them much preferred amongst furniture manufacturers. Each piece of wood is first graded for quality at the Riverside lumber plant, then kiln-dried to remove excess moisture and prevent splitting. The wood is then sent to one of Riverside's three manufacturing plants, all located in Fort Smith, Ark. At that point, it is constructed into a high-quality furniture piece using a combination of hardwood solids and hand-selected veneers. Techniques used on Riverside pieces include dovetail joinery, heavy-duty drawer roller guides, and multi-step finish applications that include hand-sanding and polishing for a deep, lustrous result. All Riverside furniture is given this high-quality treatment to ensure the beauty and durability of your final product.
