I got the ebony finish... i guess i expected wood grain with a dark/blackish stain, but it was more like black paint. It marks up pretty easy, like if you have a single sheet of paper and a pen, it can leave an indent and rivets on jeans can scratch the chairs. It looks really smart! Its our everyday table, our only table really, and its holding up nicely these first 3 weeks :)
the CHAIRS were my headache since i followed the instructions and they still didn't seem to want to go together! i forced them with some difficulty, in the end they seem fine and sturdy, although the "leg stretchers" don't necesarily look like they're put in all the way (i disassembled and reassembled them in several ways, but the way that made the most sense, though not entirely what i expected, was the way the directions say to do it).
Its cute, its sassy, its heavy! the leaf looks great (doesn't sag in the middle like some table with corner legs tend to do) Its cute, but it gains character very quickly.

If I wasn't on a budget, it would not have been my first choice, however, I love the clean design, study build, extra leaf, and chair backs are far more comfortable than they look. Product arrived in the timeframe specified at purchase and having free delivery is a huge plus over other mfg.

Looking for black dining room table to go in white kitchen w/ black granite and this is exactly what we wanted. One of the edges of the table was chipped and we contacted Heyneedle and they immediately sent out a replacement for the cracked section.

I have a small kitchen and I've been looking for a table for quite some time. I don't have much spare time to go to stores looking. So, I decided to take a chance and order a table on-line. I must say I was nervous since it was such a big item. BUT, I couldn't be happier. I love my table. I would order from Hay needle again.

Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was very prompt. The product arrived in good condition, but it appeared to have been shipped with defective pieces. I called to have replacement parts sent, and they arrived quite quickly. However the finish on the product and the few chipped areas makes the product look used rather than new.
