Tablecloth Size
Choosing the right tablecloth size for your table can make all the difference between enjoying a table that looks and feels right, and one that doesn't. Fifteen tablecloth sizes are available to fit four standard table shapes. The first step in choosing the right tablecloth size is to know what shape of table you have. The second step is measuring it.
Table Shapes
Tables can be one of four sizes: oblong, oval, round, square. Tablecloths are made in various sizes for each table shape. So, the first step when shopping for a new tablecloth is to look for tablecloth sizes that fit your table's shape.
Use a measuring tape to determine the length and width of your table. If your table is round, measure the diameter, or length from end to end, of your table. Write down the figure in inches and centimeters on a slip of paper and slide it in your pocket. Check out the list below to quickly gauge the tablecloth size that's best for your table.

Banquet-style tables measuring 30 inches wide by 48 inches long need tablecloths that measure 52 inches wide by 69 inches long; tables measuring 30 inches wide by 72 inches long require tablecloths that measure 52 inches wide by 92 inches long and tables measuring 24 inches or longer will need tablecloths that measure 52 inches wide by 114 inches long. When you get the tablecloth home, out of the package, and on your table, measure the overhang. A properly fitting tablecloth shouldn't have more than a 6- to 12-inch drop on any side.
